🍍 Don’t Be Intimidated by the Pineapple
A Fun, Foolproof Guide to Cutting It Like a Pro
Let’s clear something up right away:
A pineapple may look spiky, stubborn, and slightly threatening… but it’s actually one of the easiest fruits to prep once you know the trick.
And when pineapples are this fresh, sweet, and grill-ready at Cliff’s, there’s no reason to let a little rough exterior stop you.
So grab a sharp knife, a cutting board, and about 90 seconds — you’re about to master the pineapple.
Step 1: Trim the Top & Bottom
Lay the pineapple on its side and slice off the leafy crown and the bottom. This gives you a flat base and instant control.
Step 2: Slice Off the Skin
Stand it upright and slice downward, following the curve of the fruit to remove the skin. Don’t worry about perfection — rustic is fine.
Step 3: Quarter It
Cut the pineapple in half lengthwise, then cut each half again so you have four long spears.
Step 4: Remove the Core
Each quarter has a firm core. Slice it out at an angle for the best texture, especially if you’re grilling.
Step 5: Cut & Enjoy
Slice into chunks, spears, or cubes — whatever your recipe calls for.
